New Feature 3: Claim Premium Items for Free

Want to get that Gold Player or high-performance bat? 

You can now enlist your friend’s help to get premium Howzat items without any cost! For all Player Packs and Equipment, you can choose to purchase them instantly with Howzat Coins or you can claim them for FREE by collecting all the parts that are required to build the item. 

1 FOR YOU, 1 FOR YOUR FRIENDS

To collect the parts, you can send shares or requests to get your friends to help. The cool thing is, when a friend responds to your call for help, he will get rewarded with the same part too! How’s that for a win-win!

PARTS COLLECTION

To check the number of parts you have collected, it can be found in the INVENTORY Tab, under ITEMS. The total count of all the parts you currently have can be keep tracked here.

COMPLETE AND CLAIM 

As soon as all the parts are collected, you can click on “Complete This Item” to claim the premium item! Note that once you have claimed the item, the number of parts required will be deducted from the total count.

New Feature Part 2: You As The Captain & Managing the Team

HI CAPTAIN!

As the Captain of the Team, you will always be in the main line-up by default. You may notice that you are starting off with average attributes but as you gain more glory and level up in the game, this player will gradually learn the ropes and gain vital experience. Soon enough, this player will be one of the strongest player in your team!

Note that as a permanent player of the team, the player representing yourself is not bounded by any contract duration. So take your time to nurture this player!

MANAGING YOUR LINE-UP

There are 2 main sections in this screen - Main Line-Up and Bench. Players on the left-side list are fielded in your main line-up for the next game. The batting order will be in the order of how the players are listed so plan your strategy wisely!

To change your line-up, you can drag a player out of the main line-up and replace him with a bench player by placing over him over the bench player whom you want to field.

For example, I am now replacing S Tendulkar (Hell Yeah!) with K Butler. 

Main Line-Up:

Your overall team rating is calculated based on the players who are listed in the main line-up. Howzat recommends having at least 2 Silver players in the team to ensure that your team rating can be higher than average. 

SELECT BEST LINE-UP

We know that it can be a tough job managing so many players of varying abilities. Introducing the “Select Best Line-up” option where in a single click, the system will automatically select your best players and make sure they are fielded in your team. The best batting order will also be taken care, how awesome is that!

New Feature Part 1: Team Management

Many users have been requesting for a Team Management feature to give them more control over their team. We listened and took in all of your feedback. Today, we launched our vision of this major feature in Howzat.

INTRODUCING THE PLAYERS

There are 4 Player Grades you choose from:

- Gold Players
- Silver Players
- Bronze Players
- Basic Players

1) Basic Players

To get you started, 11 Basic Players were assembled for you. By the meaning of the word, it is probably wise not to expect too much from these players. Their main use case would probably be back-ups or stand-ins when you have yet to enlist enough star players in your team.

2) Bronze Players

Bronze Players serves as a good replacement for your Basic Players. They would form a good foundation for your team, which can be a strategic move. However, these guys are generally new and lack sufficient cricketing experience so having higher-skilled players in the team would help to boost the overall team rating.

3) Silver Players

To ensure a team rating that is higher than average, Howzat recommends having at least 2 Silver Players in your team at any single time. These are the up-and-coming players and their abilities should not be underestimated. Arm with the proper equipment, their skills will be increased by leaps and bounds - use them wisely! 

4) Gold Players

Gold Players are the most powerful cricketers in the lot. Equipped with years of experience, these players are no strangers to us and many are top-notched legends in the world of cricket. If you manage to enlist them, they are guaranteed to bring in great results for the team!

SELECTING THE PLAYER OF YOUR CHOICE

In each player pack, you will find 3 players of the player grade you have chosen. How it works is very much similar to the vending machines we are all familiar with - there is a slight chance where the 3 players are not from your team country. Out of the 3 players, you can study their attributes and abilities  before making the final decision on whom you wish to bring on to the team. The choice is entirely yours!

THERE COMES A TIME WHEN THEY WILL LEAVE

This happens when the player contract is due to expire. In the real-world, we know that no contract last forever. Great Players are always highly sought after but you are given the option to renew contracts with them if you liked their performance while they were in the team. Or if you were not satisfied, you have the freedom to terminate the partnership by not renewing and scout for new players again. 

Note that once an expired player leaves the bench, you would lose all the stats of the player that he had achieved so far while in your team. The bottom-line is, if you like a player and wants to keep him, take action early!

BRONZE PLAYERS

These players are good replacements for your basic players. They can form a good foundation for your team, which can be an important strategic move!

SILVER PLAYERS

These are the up-and-coming players and their abilities should not be underestimated. Arm with the proper equipment, their skills will be increased by leaps and bounds!  

GOLD PLAYERS

These are the top-notched players in the cricketing world and many have left legendary names. With them, big shots are almost guaranteed and they will give you the boost you need!

Introducing Powerups, and weekly cricket leader boards

After the change in howzat’s leveling system a month ago, we know you have been anxiously waiting for more. A number of interesting things are in the pipeline, but today we are only going to talk about 3 things.

1. The Leaderboard
2. The Shop 
3. The Power-ups

Before, we go into the shop, and new power-ups, let’s talk about the updated leaderboard.

LEADERBOARD

You will see an announcement about the new weekly leaderboard when you login each week.

There are two types of leaderboards,

a) Permanent

b) Weekly

Let’s talk about them one by one.

Permanent: Most Campaign Glory Earned

The permanent leader board is titled ‘ Challenge Mode’. Here you compete with your friends, countrymen, and top players in the world for glory in Single Player Challenges. If your name was present on the leaderboard last week, it might not remain there anymore.

Here’s how you get to the top of Challenge Mode:

Get 5 stars for each of the 80 rounds, and you will find yourself close to the top people in your country. If you fail, you will earn enough glory to still be among the best in your friends. However, if you have the killer instinct, and you fight on each ball, you will eventually become a top player in the world.

It will need a lot of hard work, and discipline to reach the top ten. Good luck!

Weekly Glory: Most glory earned in Multiplayer Games

Now let’s get to the amazing new weekly leaderboards. These leaderboards give you a fair chance to reach the top every week, and earn valuable rewards in the process. The goal for this inaugural week is to earn the most glory in Multiplayer games. You compete every week to reach the top of the leaderboard, and become the best player among your friends.

If you focus on your weekly goal, you can even become a top player in your country every week. Milestones are the best part of a weekly leaderboard. There are three milestones to achieve every week, and with each achievement, you unlock an amazing reward.

For the first week, the rewards include:

1. A free power up on gaining 3000 glory playing multiplayer
2. 2500 Cash on gaining 5000 glory in multiplayer 
3. 10 Coins for gaining 10,000 glory playing multiplayer 

Yes, you get 10 free coins. Isn’t that wonderful?

Let’s skim through the new stuff. 

PERFORMANCE

Your team needs two maintain their level of performance across matches.

a) FITNESS

b) FORM

FITNESS

Your team loses 10% of its fitness after each game. It takes time for your team to recover.

However, you can get fitness back to 100% instantly by buying the training equipment available in the performance section of the shop.

FORM

Like a real team, if you lose your team’s form drops by 10%, and if you fight back and win, your form will improve by 20%. Otherwise if will take a lot of rest to recover your form. If you end up on a losing streak, restore your form to 100% from the shop and return to the pitch with full force.

EQUIPMENT

It’s now easier to buy equipment, and use it in a game. Buying equipment sends it to your inventory, and you get an option to apply equipment once it is available in the inventory. With the improved UI, you can clearly see how many games does your equipment’s effect last.

If you already have equipment applied, additional equipment will be stored in your inventory.

At the end of each game, you can see the status of your equipments in the team update.

POWERUPS

Powerups are the latest addition to the shop. They help you tackle 3 challenges in the Game

1. Hitting sixes against tough ballers
2. Being caught out at a critical moment
3. Losing confidence due to a few bad shots

 There’s a powerup available in the shop now to combat each of these challenges

1. Guaranteed Six
2. Dropped Catch
3. Full Confidence 

You can buy, and apply these power-ups during the game, and see the results.

Improved Levels, Rewards & Icons

Hey Captain! I know you missed me. 

NEWS for you - From this week, it’s easier than ever to progress in the game. All of you who were stuck at levels based on your single player rounds, can now level up with playing multiplayer games too!

If you are worried that your level dropped - It did not. Your old levels are now seen as rounds. Your and your friends’ new level is totally based on glory.

A captain’s glory is a measure of your awesomeness in the game. You get more glory from each challenge you meet, each round you cross, and by beating each team in the game. 

Levels & Glory

Whether you play Single player or Multiplayer - all games you play now reward you with different amounts of glory. Big wins & tough challenges - all give you more glory and increase your level.

For example, in single player challenges, you get glory based on your performance & achievements.

Performance Calculation

Review your performance, and improve where you are weak.

Achievement Calculation

Captains who return to complete all 3 achievements rank higher in Howzat.

Now, at the end of each game, you will see exactly how much glory you earned. Keep a close look for what you can achieve to level up sooner!

A smart captain will make new records by replaying the game. Legendary captains always level up faster than their friends.

5 Star Rating for Challenges

For all your single player challenges, you will get a performance rating at the end of each match depending on how well you played. You will get 5 stars only if you are among the best. If you get less than 5 stars, you must try again and improve to earn the glory a respectable captain deserves. 

Rewards 

Awesome captains keep an eye on the rewards to ensure that they earn enough to get better equipment for their team. From today, you will know the prize you are playing for even before you start the game!

Remember that to be rewarded more energy - you need to challenge your friends everyday!

Last but not least, along with a cleaner look, and a more organized interface our art team’s bringing you the cool new Icons!

Hey - It’s not just gold & glitter. Now with a team update at the end of each game, it’s easier to tell what you gained or lost during the match.

Introducing the new Howzat interface

Hey Howzatters! Is there anything new with howzat? 

Yes. We have been listening closely to your feedback, and suggestions. To honour your love and support, today we are excited to share some of the changes introduced to the Howzat interface.

Here are the 5 things you must know in order to be the most awesome captain!

1. TOP BAR

The top bar shows you what a great captain needs to know in order to stay ahead in the game.

HOME

No matter where you are in the game, this button leads you to the home screen.

COINS

Coins are like gold, the most valuable currency a captain can get. Coins can be used to buy special equipment, get more energy, and to get 100% Fitness instantly. Use your coin wisely, you can convert them to cash but in order to get more coins you need to pay. 

*Depending on your country, you can buy coins via mobile, credit cards, or completing offers.

CASH

Cash is like spare change in a captain’s wallet. It’s not meant to be kept but tobe used whenever the team needs a boost. You win cash by playing games. A smart captain uses cash to get new bats, kits, and juice to keep the team in command.

ENERGY

A passionate captain brings energy to the team. No matter how great a player, the energy is limited. You use this energy to compete against opponents. If you don’t take a break, you will run out of your energy. To get more energy, you must play friendly challenges with your dear friends.

If you believe that nothing can stop you from playing cricket, you can click ‘+’ and use coins to buy more energy! 

GLORY

A captain’s glory is a measure of your awesomeness in the game. You get more glory from each challenge you meet, each round you cross, and by beating each team in the game.

*In the coming weeks, you’d also be getting glory from Multiplayer matches, and Friendly challenges.

2. Menu 

The new menu takes you to different sections of the game, we’d go into details another day.

3. Team Widget

There are 4 things in the team widget that we have made easier to see, and modify:

a) YOUR NAME - You can change it by clicking edit

b) YOUR FORM - Your form changes with every single player & multiplayer game. Winning improves your form, and losing drops it. A player in full form is harder to beat.

c) YOUR RATING - Your rating is a combination of your team’s natural skills. To make up for the team’s weaknesses and to boost their strengths, click ‘+’ to buy equipment.

d) YOUR FITNESS - Your fitness level drops with every game, and recovers a bit every 10 minutes. if you are not fit, your performance gets affected. Whenever you are about to play a tough match, make sure your team is 100% fit.

4. Friends

The people who make howzat the most awesome game to play online - your friends. Now you’d see all your friends at the bottom of the screen.

a) Friends - Challenge your friends to a quick 2 over game, and gain energy when they respond. You can also taunt people who take time to repsond!

b) Pending Challenges - Similarly, if you see pending challenges, click the tab, and respond to the target before they need to taunt you! Both of you get free energy on completing the challenge.

5. GAME OBJECTIVES

An aggressive captain loves to keep track of their goals as they make their charge against the opponent side. That’s why we have put primary objectives, and secondary objectives for single player games right up front. 

*RANK

You only see top 10 Ranks in your country, and around the world when you click the leaderboard button in the menu.

We are working on a new ranking system in the coming weeks, so if you are not in the top ten, you won’t get to see your rank.
